Yu Hang is a First Artist with The Royal Ballet. She began her ballet training at the Shanghai Dance School, During her student years, she achieved outstanding success in major international ballet competitions, winning top prizes including Double Gold Awards in Classical and Contemporary Dance at the South African International Ballet Competition, as well as Gold Medals at the Beijing International Ballet Competition, Canaan Star Hong Kong, and the Shanghai International Ballet Competition.

In 2016, Yu Hang won the Gold Medal at the YAGP and the 44th Prix de Lausanne, becoming the only Chinese dancer in nearly thirty years to receive this prestigious honor. She was awarded the Nadia Nerina Scholarship from the Philip Loubser Foundation, a full scholarship to study at The Royal Ballet School, where she completed her training with distinction. Two years later, she graduated as an outstanding student and joined The Royal Ballet, beginning her professional career with the company.

With The Royal Ballet, she has performed a wide range of classical and contemporary repertoire, including The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty, Giselle, Manon, and Romeo and Juliet. She has also appeared in works by choreographic masters such as Kenneth MacMillan, Frederick Ashton, George Balanchine, Wayne McGregor, and Christopher Wheeldon.

Spanish dancer Martin Diaz is an Artist of The Royal Ballet. He joined The Royal Ballet as an Aud Jebsen Young Dancer in the 2022/2023 Season and was promoted to Artist of The Royal Ballet in 2023.
Diaz was born in Bilbao, Spain and began his ballet studies at the age of seven. His early training took place at the Escuela de danza Igor Yebra (2010-2017) and the Mariemma Conservatory in Madrid (2017-2018). During his time in Madrid he attended the World Dance Fair competition and International dance competition in Torrelavega where he was awarded First prize. In 2018 he joined The Royal Ballet School at White Lodge. Whilst at the Upper School he was awarded a prize in the Lynn Seymour Competition for Expressive Dance and in 2022 graduated from The Royal Ballet School.
As a student he performed the Nutcracker Prince, Ocean and Pearls, Walpurgis Night as well as others.
In his graduate year he performed the principal role in Raymonda as well as in John Neumeier’s Yondering and Wayne McGregor’s Presentient.
With the company, his roles include Jose in ‘Like water for chocolate’, Pas de quatre from Swan Lake, Pas de trois in Rhapsody, Dance of the blessed spirits, soloist roles in Alice’s adventures in wonderland, the Weathering, The Nutcracker and Fool’s Paradise as well as others. He has created roles in Robert Binet’s Dark with Excessive Bright.

Takahito began ballet at the age of six, training with Shizuko Soda, Chikahisa Natsuyama, Takahiro Harada and contemporary ballet with Makoto Saito at Soda Ballet School/ Ballet Studio Muse.

He later received a scholarship to the Ballettschule Theater Basel in Switzerland where he graduated at the top of his class. Afterward, he joined Saint Louis Ballet under the artistic direction of former New York City Ballet principal Gen Horiuchi. With the company, he danced leading roles such as Basilio in Don Quixote and Franz in Coppélia, as well as featured roles in contemporary works. He continues to appear with Saint Louis Ballet as a guest artist, earning Horiuchi’s deep trust.

His repertoire includes Cinderella, The Nutcracker, Twyla Tharp’s The Story Teller, Brian Enos’ Bloom, Richard Wherlock’s Folk Songs and George Balanchine’s Waltz Fantaisie and Divertimento No.15.

Since 2010, he has performed in all of Gen Horiuchi’s productions in Japan. In 2012, he received 2nd Prize in the Senior Division of the Kobe National Ballet Competition and 1st Prize in the Pas de Deux Division of the All Japan Dance Competition along with the Minister of Education Award.
