Paul Knobloch is a distinguished Australian choreographer, creative director, and ballet répétiteur with an extensive career spanning stage, film, and television. An honours graduate of The Australian Ballet School, he quickly rose to the rank of soloist at The Australian Ballet before joining Béjart Ballet Lausanne as a principal artist in 2009.
Throughout his career, Knobloch has collaborated with leading companies worldwide, including English National Ballet, Alonzo King Lines Ballet, West Australian Ballet, and Sydney Dance Company. His repertoire encompasses a wide range of leading classical roles and innovative works created in collaboration with renowned choreographers. As a choreographer, he has received critical acclaim and has been commissioned by companies across Australia, Europe, Canada, and the United States.
A highly sought-after teacher and mentor, Knobloch has shared his expertise with many leading companies across the world, including Les Ballets de Monte Carlo, Tokyo Ballet, Hong Kong Ballet, and numerous others. Honoured in 2001 as the ACT Young Australian of the Year, he is a highly awarded artist dedicated to pushing choreographic boundaries and inspiring the next generation of dancers. Jason Yap began his dance education after high school and trained in various genres including Latin, Hip Hop, Jazz, Contemporary, and Ballet. In 2014, he completed. Bachelors of Psychological Science at HELP/Flinders University and was accepted into the Bachelors of Fine Arts (Honors) programme majoring in Contemporary dance at the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts (HKAPA) a year later.
Jason has performed works for both local artists including Jack Ken and Kuik Swee Boon, as well as international artists such as Judith Sanchez, Gabriel Prokofiev, Andrej Kalinka, and Mehdi Farajpour. In 2017, Jason co-produced his choreographic debut titled Kill Your Darlings. He was also selected to represent the HKAPA at international events such as the Paris Summer Academy and ISPaR (2017), CAMPING (2018), and Ponderosa (2018). In 2018, he initiated the interdisciplinary art collective, STAGE, and later received the Director’s Award for his overall contribution to the Academy. He most recently established his independent educational podcast, The Background Dancer (2021), and co-founded the cultural startup Arunio in 2023.
Outside of dance, Jason has developed a penchant towards interdisciplinary practices and aspires to become a producer and curator in the performing arts. He is currently an ensemble member of Divaldo Študio Tanca in Banská Bystrica, Slovakia.
Kishore started his journey into dance training at the Temple of Fine Arts where he studied various Indian Classical dance forms under his two mothers. He performed his solo debut in Bharathanatyam in 2013 and ventured into Ballet and Contemporary at the age of 20, and enrolled in the National Arts Academy, Malaysia (ASWARA) where he completed his Diploma in 2013. He was a dancer with ASK Dance Company for 3 years under the artistic direction of Joseph Gonzales. Some of his performances; Dance Teens 2011, Women On Top 2012, and The White Bat and Coppelia by KL Dancework Productions.
Kishore obtained his BFA in Dance at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), while working with many well-established local and international choreographers such as Oded Ronan, Sue Peacock, and Sue Hayley in 2015. In 2017, he returned to WAAPA – the Link Dance Company completing his Honours and performed in their Europe tour of major festivals working with Michael Whaites, Sue Peacock, Sam Chester, Natalie Allen and Carmela Segura.Kishore has performed at the Darbar Festival at the Sadler Wells Theatre working with Mavin Khoo and Akram Khan, and Seeta Patel’s Rite of Spring, touring the UK. As an emerging choreographer, his work “Some Point of Motion” was featured at the Shantanand Festival of Arts and “Within my Mind” was one of the nominated works for Best Group Performance at the BOH Cameronian Awards. In 2024, he performed at the India-International Ramayana Mela in Delhi and choreographed a new solo work titled “Experience, Experiment, Expectations”. He also worked with Seeta Patel Dance in the UK and was the Artistic lead for the Shantanad Festival of Arts, and later involved in the Lakshya Residency. In 2025, he premiered Seeta Patel’s new work “The Fates” and performed in her Rite of Spring at the Teatro Communale and Brussels.
Kishore is a part-time lecturer at ASWARA, a full-time teacher at The Temple of Fine Arts, and also a part-time member of the ChitAmbara ensemble in KL and Perth as a performer. Kishore continues to be a sponge of learning and yearns for new artistic experiences, specifically the contrast between speed, breath, stillness and animalistic movements.
Chan Kar Kah (b.1997) is a Malaysian interdisciplinary artist, choreographer, educator, and director of Marrow Collective. Kar Kah was trained in Chinese classical dance, Chinese ethnic folk dance, and contemporary dance at Beijing Normal University. In 2018, she founded Marrow Collective exploring the interstices of dance and visual arts. Kar Kah’s research on local Chinese dance surrounds the ancestral traditions and somatic memories of the Malaysian Chinese community, and their influence on Chinese dance in Malaysia.
Specializing in classical characterization, with later involvement in Chinese opera and Chinese martial arts (Nan Quan), she seeks the commonality between the body movements of these arts and the integration between both in Tanah Melayu. Her works also focus on Chinese philosophy, eastern body movements, and their integrations in the cultural exchanges in Southeast Asia.
Her productions include Prajñā Revisited, EXIT-IN Perspective: Reimagining Malaysian Chinese Dance, SERENITY: A Glimpse Through The Traditional Lenses, and her remarkable series of Malaysian Chinese dance research projects, Coherence: InterFaces that was selected for Kaleidoscope III 2022 Singapore. Her recent works have been presented at Dancebox, Yayasan Sime Darby Arts Festival, Scarlet Mela Festival of Arts Singapore, George Town Festival, Emergence, MAP Experimentum in both Australia and Malaysia, and Bandung Arts Festival Indonesia. Kar Kah was also a resident artist of Rimbun Dahan Artist Residency in season 2022. She has been awarded the Gold Prize in both the Asia Dance Arts Festival 2023 and the National Chinese Dance Festival 2024. In the same year, she was invited to the Singapore International Dance Conference and Festival as a Malaysian representative, to present her works and conduct a masterclass. Kar Kay has also been invited to facilitate Chinese dance workshops for ASWARA and KLPAC for numerous festivals. As for her most recent solo work, ‘蔓 Wreathe’ was rewarded with the Best Female Dancer Award in Short+Sweet 2024.
Ealbie Breandant Abinus is a distinguished dance professional currently pursuing a Master of Performance Studies at the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI). He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Dance (Honors) in Performance from Akademi Seni Budaya dan Warisan Kebangsaan (ASWARA) and a Diploma in Dance from UPSI.
Ealbie is the Co-founder of Dana’s Fusion Kuala Lumpur, where he holds the position of Managing Director and Accounts & Program Associate.
His choreographic works include Steps, Vali, Moi Ongoi, Moi Panau, Somsomido, Terunggari, Tingaang Ngaraang, and Murut Warrior, among others.
Ealbie has significant accolades, including winning the World Championships of Performing Arts 2021 (WCOPA) and securing 1st place in the Virtual Intervarsity Traditional Dance Competition in 2020. He has participated in international festival, such as the Maura Festival in Singapore, has received the Anugerah Pelajar Gemilang Siswa ASWARA in 2019 and 2020 and is currently working as Visiting Artist at UPSI.
Adlan Sairin is a performer and choreographer from Sabah, Malaysia, whose work bridges traditional heritage and contemporary exploration. He holds a Diploma in Dance from Sultan Idris Education University (UPSI) and a Bachelor of Dance (Honors), majoring in performance, from the National Academy of Arts, Culture and Heritage (ASWARA).
He was formerly a full-time dancer with ASK Dance Company, where he deepened his professional practice through numerous productions and collaborative projects. His artistic journey also includes residencies, performances, and festivals across China, Hong Kong, Hawaii, Singapore, Italy, India, and Japan.
Adlan has worked with both local and international companies, including KL Shakespeare Players and Japan’s Hiroshima Koike Bridge Project (Old Lear, Soul of Odyssey), bringing Malaysian narratives to global audiences. His choreographic works, such as Sonsomido, Role Play, Echoed, Aragang, Home, and Alpha Beta, have been featured in stage productions, competitions, and academic platforms. He is currently serving as a guest artist at UPSI, actively contributing to dance education, performance, and cross-cultural clllaboration both locally and internationally.
